I usually have to wait for the water heater to kick in before the shower gets nice and steamy, just the way I like it.

september, self portrait - the bathroom 1

While I was playing around with my camera in the bathroom, I found a teeny ridge in the mirror.  If you hold the camera at just the right angle, you can see three of my heads (or 3 sets of eyes at least).  Pretty groovy.

It's been a while since I've contributed to the Self Portrait Challenge.  While enjoying an evening with my daughter at the playground, I found a twirly and interesting shape to play around on.

spt - on the street 2

I don't know if this exactly counts as "on the street", but my feet are touching the ground - sort of.  Last weeks picture as well as this one were taken around the building where my dad works.  It's a small industrial area with a NJ Transit track running right down the middle.  The tracks look so desolate and in one direction, there is nothing but forest.  This place intrigues and haunts me at the same time.

Glitter and sparkles - I love it all.  I take my grooming seriously.  I love smelling yummy and I love soft, baby bum skin.  And like any born and bred Jersey girl, I like my nails long and French manicured.

This month at the Self Portrait site, the challenge is "The Body".  They asked us not to do a full body shot, but I did as my photographer asked of me.  I'm very critical of my physical self.  For those of you who read here often, you know this about me.  But there is one girl in this world who loves me for me, and encourages me to embrace myself, to love myself wholeheartedly.  I struggle with this daily.

But, fuck it.  This is me, a little exposed and out of my element but loving the feeling all the same.  My new affirmation:  to love my body as it is.  What do you think?

The fam, gangsta style - March 11, 2007.  Click to enhance.

This is me with Ralph and Steve.  It was one of the best days I've had in a long, long time.  I felt good, I looked good, I was surrounded with my friends - old friends I hadn't seen in a while, I had some white wine in me.  The music was playing, the kids were dancing.  It's not very often I have days like this, but when I do, I try to document the moments.  I need these pictures to look back and remember and reflect on when I'm having a shitty day.
