+ due to the emotional & hormonal state of affairs going on in my body, yesterday's curvy girl post will be shared next week. thank you for understanding. it involved a photo shoot that i had zero energy to see through. i'm a slacker like that.
onward ...
last weekend, my friends made me a fantastic 40th birthday party. here is just a peek of the festivities because we were all fucking slackers when it came to taking photos.
i'm loving how it looks like i'm devouring that entire cake while pondering the meaning of life in this photo, but really ... my brother just got caught feeding Trixie cake. caught ya, motherfucker...
i think my sister looks like an angel in this picture. Trixie is licking the nose of my faux cousin / massage therapist, Lanya. there is a decent amount of crazy in Trixie's eyes. might be all the cake my brother fed her.
two things: she looks like mom, i look like dad. also, the card is from my brother, who might have redeemed himself from the secret cake feeding incident by writing me a poetic, love infused card professing how much of a great sister i am combo'd with 2 candles and a twenty dollar bill. Tina was like "what is that all about?!" Now it's a thing. Tina's b-day is next week and the heat is on to see who could make her the better birthday card.
big, open mouthed, belly laughs. everyone had that going on except her in this moment ...
this is my neice Amanda who never goes anywhere. she came to my party and that makes me happy! Trixie likes her.
yes, Angie's best friend Jada designed my bag with photos of Lana Del Rey, the Eiffel Tower, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers because she knows what i love. Trixie was up in everyone's grill that day.
++++ what you didn't see:
photos of my best friend Eileen who organized the party. she asked me for phone #'s and had me leave the house to set it up. she took care of everything from the food, to delegating tasks, to decorating. she is the bomb(dot)com. her parents came as well.
my other best friend Dorothy ... who is preggos!! i can say it because she's told everyone now, including her parents. that was a hard secret to keep. the whole 'my best friend is getting married' happiness of last year is now the 'my best friend is having a baby' joyride. she helped with a lot of the decorating being that she is a fierce web designing magician. her husband Jon was here too.
my daughter. holy smokes we have not one photo together! her best friend Jada was here. they both helped Eileen master plan the party.
and one more thing. my sister made these amazing red hot candles (no really, they smell like red hot candies) as favors for everyone to take home. what a sweet touch. i'm so thankful for the ladies in my life. you all really made me feel special. (the only non B&W photo because my daughter was shooting my canon 7d on auto all day)
sadly, my husband is still away and missed the festivities -but- he will be home on Monday and we have a birthday weekend in NYC in the works for next Friday.
wishing you a lovely weekend. xo
